Dr. Manning's expertise in organizational change was highlighted when General Electric hired her to be a key facilitator in Jack Welch's Work-Out re-engineering initiative during the 1980s. She was also invited in the late 1990s to be on the leadership team for Symantec's International Change and Customer-Focus Initiatives.

Dr. Manning's understanding of organizations has also manifested into various leadership positions. She has served as the president of the largest chapter of the National Speakers Association (NSA), and she currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP).

Dr. Manning has extensive experience working internationally. Her services have been utilized for international organizations such as the Malaysian Prime Minister's Cabinet, IBL shipping company in Mauritius, Symantec in Europe and Canada, and for American Standard in Mexico. She has also worked in London, Borneo, South Africa, and Puerto Rico, utilizing her particular synthesis of organizational psychology and transpersonal values.

Marilyn is the CEO of her own business, The Consulting Team. She is one of only 17 international speakers holding both certified management consultant (CMC) and certified speaking professional (CSP) designations. She is a regular lecturer at University of Chicago Graduate Business School, and Stanford University's Leadership Forums.

Dr. Manning received a M.A. in Social Science from San Jose State University in California. She received a M.A. and Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in California.
